The Peckville UMC has such a rich history with and a deep love for Sky Lake that we though it would only be fitting if our church had its own web page dedicated to Sky Lake.

Over the years since 1949 many campers and counselors came from Peckville. In fact Jeremy Lucas and Sarah Taylor have spent entire summers working and counseling at the camp. Bonny Taylor was among the first camper at Sky Lake from Peckville.

But it is the winter retreats that sealed a love affair between Peckville UMC and Sky Lake. It started back in 1969 when the young adults and the youth of the church had the first retreat. Riley was brand new and it those early years it was filled with teenagers on one side and young adults on the other. Does anyone remember that our only snack for the weekend was our nightly popcorn and smore's? How that has changed. After a time of not having the winter retreats during the 1980's Ron Lucas lit a spark under the dry tinder of the old tradition and it has come to a full roar of excitement ever since.
